Insanity Is In The Eye Of The Beholder

Batman: The Dark Knight Colorado Rises

I was going to get into the conspiracy details of how this Colorado tragedy could have easily been set up by the government in its hopes for amending gun laws but I will refrain for now. I want to talk about how sad our society has become. It’s sickening to know that we are living in the “future” of the “savage” societies of our origins. One would think we have come too far as a race of human beings to commit such senseless and vicious crimes against the innocent. I can’t believe it has come to the point in where we can not even go out and watch a movie without having to live in some kind of fear. I have said it many times, 2012 will not mark the end of the world literally, but it will end the world of freedom as we know it. I’m sure there will be many adjustments to security precautions in all areas of life, as some should. I’m not saying measures should not be taken because obviously this could have been avoided or at least better prepared for. The issue I have is the paranoia that will develop and the amount of corruption that will develop from police getting increased power. The lives of many innocent people were taken with this tragedy. Let’s not let their deaths and injuries be in vain, open up your eyes. Realize we as people are worth more than this.

Society doesn’t change. The history we’re taught is about rulers and empires coming and going. Society is the people. Please understand, even in Hitler’s Germany, most people didn’t suddenly lose their humanity. This latest act of insanity just shows we’ve got better weapons with which the few crazies can unleash their anger upon us.

I see what you’re saying. To me its about way more than just this instance, too often people get caught up in the moment and fail to see the bigger picture. I feel like we’re at a stage more dangerous than any other time, people are losing empathy. Things happen and the expected questions that should follow never do. And in fact when the questions do arise the people who are brave enough to think outside the lines are made to seem like they are crazy. It’s sad to me that rational thinking and looking at more than what is reported is considered crazy by our society today whereas back then it was’t so much.
